Set on a strip of pure, white, sandy beach that melts into a crystal-clear, turquoise lagoon, this is a magical resort for the perfect honeymoon or holiday to get away from it all. This is the magnificent Trou aux Biches.
Trou aux Biches is an absolutely gorgeous place, there’s no denying that, but then all Beachcombers are. However, what makes this particular resort stand out is that it is the first certified eco-friendly resort in the Beachcomber family. In fact, it’s actually the first in all of Mauritius, which is a big win for us and OutThere travellers that care for the planet. Knowing that we’re minimalising our impact on the local environment while we holiday is comforting and inspiring.
The hotel’s position on the North West coast, sheltered by the headland at Mont Choisy means that it gets its share of great weather and dramatic (romantic) sunsets. Our lavish beachfront chalet came complete with its own private plunge pool, crazy really considering there are six main pools on the whole resort. This meant we could escape from the madding crowd, whilst being directly on the beach – the discreet and private vacation we were looking for.
Good job too, because the Trou Aux Biches is otherwise quite a large resort and golf club, but to be really honest we hardly noticed anyone else. This is escapism on its A-game

| With five restaurants and two bars, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drink. The cuisine is international, spanning the oceans. We leant into the Asian eateries during our stay, our favourite being Blue Ginger for Thai flavours and Mahiya as a close second for Indian food. |
