It’s hard to think of what more you could want from a guest house that Lådfabriken doesn’t already offer. Its owners have created a stunning space that would look the part in any interior design coffee-table book, overlaying it with quirky, mid-century paraphernalia collected on their own travels around the world.
But this is far from a case of ‘all style, no substance’. They spent four years planning and creating a space that would accommodate up to eight guests in large bedrooms with comfortable beds and their own separate bathrooms.
Nor is a stay here all about the amenities, these guys really know how to treat their guests – with warm, informal welcomes and great conversation. They are masters of the art of entertaining, providing a raft of restaurant quality, locally sourced food and drink, yet without any of the pretentiousness or ceremony. Together, they also offer one of the warmest welcomes we world-weary travellers have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
Outside the house, assuming you can drag yourself away, they can facilitate a range of activities. even in the winter months they can find something to keep you entertained. However, if all you really want to do is chill out with a book and a glass of wine and escape from the world in a designer chair, then they have you covered too. And all this just an hour’s drive from buzzing Gothenburg.
