It’s rare for us to describe a hotel as epic, but the Hotel ICON certainly was. The property showcases the very best in Asian hospitality and a design philosophy that represents the brightest stars of Hong Kong based and international creative talent. From the building itself that is a symbolic landmark in Tsim Sha Tsui East, to lavish interiors in the communal areas of the property, to the individualistic designer suites – even down to the staff uniforms, everything has been created with perfection and guest experience in mind. You won’t blame us for spending most of our time in the hotel’s sumptuous ninth storey pool, looking out to the majestic Hong Kong harbour; behind us, a state of the art, glass fronted fitness centre (that we didn’t use!). But we didn’t need to be asked twice to try the hotel’s Angsana spa, run by the team from the world-famous Banyan Tree Hotels, the perfect way to unwind and decompress from a long flight. We indulged in the Conran & Partners’ pan-Asian buffet, ‘The Market’, inspired by the iconic wet markets of Hong Kong. And after a night out, coming home to Asia’s largest indoor vertical garden in the lobby was like stepping into an oasis of absolute calm.
At OutThere, we believe in boundless travel. But we understand that some destinations can pose challenges to travellers that complicate visiting them. We advise all visitors to inform themselves about local legislation and customs, and to work with a trusted travel provider in order to ensure a safe and pleasant holiday.
