Right in the Quadrilatero d’Oro, the pumping heart of the city’s fashion and style district, the Four Seasons Milan, a hotel worthy of grande dame status – albeit its dedication to understated luxury – celebrates over two illustrious decades in business.
As we sipped champagne on our super-king-sized bed at the Four Seasons Milan, deciding whether to take a long soak in our palatial bath or to luxuriate in the duplex spa, designed by no other than Patricia Urquiola, we laughed at the thought that this Milanese urban sanctuary was once a convent. Its 15th-century nuns would roll in their graves if they knew their home was being enjoyed the way it is today! But they couldn’t have imagined that Milan would, in five centuries, become one of the most chic cities in the world, hosting Italy’s fashion elite and all that it entails.

While you’re Out There |
The cat is out of the bag on Lake Como, but have you heard of Lake Iseo? Well, it’s a closely guarded secret among the Milanese elite. The Four Seasons Milan team helped us get to the fascinating Franciacorta region, home to the lake. We learnt about the region’s famous sparkling wines before boarding an iconic Riva Aquarama, to cruise around the lake, taking lunch on Monteisola, the biggest lake island in Europe. This is truly ‘la dolce vita’! |
