Port Lincoln is a great place to spend a few days by the sea if your South Australian itinerary just wouldn’t be complete without a city-by-the-sea experience. That said, there isn’t exactly a huge amount of upscale accommodation in the area – the one fabulous place we do recommend bedding at, however, is Deco Beach Luxury Apartments.
Top-notch lodgings don’t grow on trees in seaside Port Lincoln, so we were delighted to discover Deco 1, one of four immaculately kept units in a cute retro bungalow facing Boston Bay. Sea views, filtered by a row of statuesque Norfolk pines, beamed through the windows of our huge living space equipped with a fully fitted kitchen. Our master bedroom, too, was vast and blessed with marine views.
Throughout, the generous windows and the location’s extraordinary natural light combine to give the space a seductive serenity. The apartment shares a small pool with its three adjoining neighbours and is in pole position for sinful breakfast goodies at the Beach Bakery across the street.

The city of Port Lincoln very much sees itself as an adventure playground, and you can certainly head out for some experiential fun when in town. A good place to start is the exceptionally beautiful Coffin Bay National Park, which isn’t far from here. |
