It’s amazing when one of the world’s most famous hotels lives up to its hype and, moreover, your expectations. This stalwart of the Las Vegas strip certainly did that and far more on our recent visit. Caesars Palace is a modern, city-sized, up-to-date, whirlwind of an adult playground, that Emperor Caligula himself would’ve been proud of. For over half a century it’s been renowned as the in-place in Sin City, famous for gay pilgrimages to see Elton, Celine, Shania and other Vegas Gods and Goddesses. This little emperor and his entourage were certainly impressed – our one-bed Royal Suite with additional connecting bedroom in the Octavious Tower made for a hangover-inducing party-HQ on our ultimate boys weekend, complete with bird’s-eye view of the beautiful bodies at the pool below. To ride out the headaches, a treatment at Qua Baths and Spa was just the tonic, as was basking on the banks of The Pool and inspecting the six-packs and speedos much closer. There really wasn’t any need for us to leave the premises, but with the all-new High Roller and Linq complex just opposite, it was worth the short walk – as was dinner at Linq’s upscale Chayo Mexican Kitchen.
