Where do Brazil’s rich and famous and international megastars of the music scene get away to on their downtime? The sublime, escapist resort known as Ponta dos Ganchos, of course!
The best house on what is said to be the best resort in Brazil – Ponta dos Ganchos – is a villa dolled up for billionaires and visiting celebrities. It’s everything you need from a lavish villa, but the winning feature of this piece of luxury real estate is the eye-popping views of the Emerald coast, everywhere you look throughout the villa; not to mention your very own infinity pool and Whirlpool spa, plus a private wine cellar and fitness centre. We guess this is why they call this place is the ultimate in Brazilian luxury.
The rest of the property at Ponta dos Ganchos is pretty spectacular too, a self-billed ‘exclusive resort’ its confident, bold and knows what it’s pitching and who it’s pitching it to. It’s an adults-only escapist playground with just 25 villas and bungalows, set in 80,000 square metres of private peninsula land of outstanding natural beauty. Beach bums and water babies will love this place, offering beautiful, unspoilt bodies of Santa Catarina seawater to choose from, just take your pick of sea views as you walk around the resort on elevated boardwalks. We barely saw another holidaymaker the entire time we were there – the hotel claimed to be fully booked when we stayed – a testament to the hotel team’s (and designer’s) efforts to craft the perfect, luxury hideaway experience.

If like us you adore fresh seafood, you are in for a treat. Make sure to taste the marine bounty that Santa Catarina has to offer at the hotel’s restaurant, that offers food and drink on demand – they’re proud of the fact that they are open all day and will only close when the last guests leave. A must-try is the local oysters, we tried and tried over again, just to be sure they were good. They were amazing. |
