They say whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but the Signature at MGM Grand – a glitzy, towering temple to entertainment just off the strip – is something to write home about. For those who aren’t into gambling, this suburb of the infamous gaming-show-pleasure city offers up a casino-free sanctuary designed for relaxation, with three swimming pools for its guests to enjoy in the desert heat.
As we visited Las Vegas for a getaway – yes, it is possible in ‘Sin City’ – we absolutely loved the ‘ding-ding’ free serenity of the Signature at MGM Grand.
Everything in this three-tower, all-suite hotel has been designed to ensure that our trip was as chilled as possible, with as much class and sophistication that be achieved in this city of eternal fun.
The Signature at MGM Grand has been cunningly designed to be almost the antithesis of the stereotypical Vegas experience. Our favourite example is that there is no smoking at all throughout the hotel!
In our room, floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the bright lights of the city and the desert beyond, and luxurious décor and amenities were in place (we definitely made use of the Jacuzzi bath-tub big enough for two) to ensure that – if we want to stay in and not leave for any reason – we were in seventh heaven.
True to Vegas form, everything at the Signature at MGM Grand was completely and utterly oversized. Even the smallest studio suites are massive; ours was equipped with a kitchenette and bar, not that we made use of it at all. Just next door in the MGM Grand complex and with easy access to the rest of the Las Vegas strip, world-class restaurants and eateries are within easy reach.
The team at the hotel are to be commended. Despite running a large operation, they were absolutely great and completely on-point. But we noted that true to the brand, they’re always there to help, but trained to leave you undisturbed should you not need them. We thought this strange at first, especially here in Vegas where there’s a tip waiting with every customer and request, but when it was explained, we truly appreciated it. So the lesson we learnt here was not to mistake the lack of overbearing service you might get elsewhere as aloofness on the part of the MGM staff.

At each of the three Signature towers, there’s a luxurious, private heated pool that only Signature guests of each tower can access and book the cabanas. It’s a far cry from the party-hard beach clubs of the strip, so make sure to enjoy the serenity while staying here, with a poolside cocktail or five. |
