We really felt like locals on returning to our chic apartment after a long day of enjoying the city. Designed by Edward Asfour of Asfour Guzy Architects, the cool, generously proportioned interiors feature hard wood floors, fitted gourmet kitchens and contemporary furnishings, creating a relaxing yet sophisticated urban vibe.
Situated on east 46th Street, Midtown East, the name clearly suggests the property’s proximity to a New York landmark. Just a couple of blocks away from the centre for international negotiations, it’s hard not to fall into the role of a un special envoy when visiting.
Our general takeaway is that the AKA United Nations is aimed more for the business traveller, but it is also the perfect location for those looking to indulge in a luxury shopping spree with both Fifth and Madison Avenues and their high end flagship stores being in easy walking distance. And if like us, you don’t tire of Manhattan’s sights and sounds, then taking your morning coffee on your balcony with a clear view of the top of the Chrysler Building never gets old, regardless of how long, or how many times you come to stay at the AKA.
