The Chateau Haute Germaine is an exclusive-hire, private escape with a rich heritage in the South of France: quirky, old-worldly and a stunning holiday home away from home.
To start, the Chateau Haute Germaine is an outstanding historic home, dating back to the 17th century, just 35 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches of Nice. And everything about this magical chateau just keeps getting better from there.
We never really stopped exploring this seven-bedroom property set in 148 acres of countryside. Outside, the views down the Var Valley and the massive Maritime Alps, over an olive grove are simply breathtaking – you can see why the owners fell in love and restored it, turning it into a holiday home, event space and location house.
Because of its secluded situation, it has become a place of interest for celebrities and dignitaries – and furthermore, it’s the perfect venue for an intimate, escapist wedding – we were tempted to have our fairytale ceremony in the property’s beautiful, medieval chapel!
The interior decor includes classical, historical and modern pieces ranging from Roche Bobois furniture to medieval fireplaces, pillars and stained glass panels. It also features a quirky and eclectic mix of art by celebrated contemporary artists from across the world.
We also loved the stunning gardens containing medicinal plants and rare orchids, among other amazing flora. France has a lot of magic to offer, but this is a very unique opportunity to stay somewhere that embodies its rich history.
